Stangnäs–Sandvik 8 km – giant’s kettle and rocky seashores
In Stangnäs there are giant’s kettles of different sizes, i.e. potholes drilled in solid rock by stones and gravel rotating in the bed of subglacial meltwater stream during the Ice Age. Be careful not to step right into a big hole! There is a small sandy bay. The trail follows the western seashore with magnificent views of the Delet sea area. The shoreline with uneven cliffs can be demanding. After Sandvik, the path turns back towards the village. For a shorter and easier hike choose the trail from the smithy to Stangnäs and back, or from the smithy to Sandvik and back. There are swimming spots along the trail, but no certified public bathing beaches.
Enjoy nature! Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footsteps.
